Research and Discovery Process Focused:

Researching my particular industry has shown me that marketing is truly built upon psychology and directly influences consumer behavior like I hypothesized. However, I didn't realize the true depth of psychological foundations in marketing. For example, I knew that the way things are worded or using fear to get people to buy products or services are both marketing techniques built upon psychology, but I didn't realize that color would also be a psychological factor. Simply using clashing colors or duller colors can greatly affect consumer behavior, which was something I had not known or thought of before.
This research, specifically psychological foundations in marketing, overwhelmed me because it was very difficult to find well informed sources related to this topic. That being said, this has only made me more interested in discovering more about this topic.
My annotated bibliography number one specifically focused on psychology in marketing which was difficult to research, but my career overview was much easier since there is a lot more general information about marketing not relating to its psychological base.
I believe this is because marketing is often seen from a business perspective and how it affects economies or businesses, rather than how psychology affects consumer behavior and understanding, which would be considered more of a science perspective.
