Research Interview Focused:

My interviews with professionals in the marketing field have provided me with much information research failed to provide. The information I gained from research could be categorized as factual, concrete information and examples, where the interviews provided a more humanistic perspective. The interviews consistently provided emotion and advice which I have found to be very relatable and easier to understand.

Through the interview, I was also able to gain knowledge on the specifics of each position of the professionals and what specifically contributed to their success. In one of my interviews, for example, my interviewee Mrs. Prasadrao, did not complete a college education or earn a degree. Learning about this was surprising since I thought a degree in marketing would provide valuable knowledge essential to success in the field. However, Mrs. Prasadrao disproved my initial view by explaining that experience firsthand in the primary market provided her with all the knowledge and exposure she needed to begin working in the field.

Learning from these interviews, I gained valuable insight on the field and am now better prepared to further my research and expand my skills. Having multiple talents was also largely emphasized during my interviews so I will be looking to expand in regards to that as well.
